Ruben Onsu agrees to compensation over Rp3.5 billion fund embezzlement case

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Celebrity Ruben Onsu has agreed to compensate the victim in a fraud and embezzlement case involving Rp3.5 billion as part of a family settlement.

“The agreement includes, among other things, that the reported party will compensate the losses suffered by the reporting party,” said South Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Head AKP Joko Adi Wibowo to reporters at the South Jakarta Metro Police on Monday.

He said the reporting party, with the initials P, filed a police report on fraud and/or embezzlement under number B/3100/VIII/SPKT/2025 at the South Jakarta Police. On 22 August 2026, the reporting party came to the South Jakarta Metro Police.

The victim then met with investigators from the Special Crimes Unit of the South Jakarta Police Criminal Investigation Department, bringing two letters.

“The first letter is a peace agreement between the two parties, and the second letter is a withdrawal of the police report made by the reporting party, namely Mr P,” said Joko.

After the restorative justice process and case review are conducted, investigators will issue a Warrant to Terminate Investigation (SP3), so that Ruben Onsu’s suspect status will end.

The case began when Ruben Onsu offered the victim, with the initials DM, an investment in a product trading business.

Ruben and DM then made a cooperation agreement regarding the investment. Ruben was also said to have promised profits from the cooperation.

However, by the specified deadline, the victim did not receive the promised profits.
