Rubbish Piles Up at Pluit Reservoir Flats, Pramono Targets Clean-Up Within 10 Days
A temporary disposal site at the Pluit Reservoir public housing complex in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, has been overflowing with rubbish in recent days. The pile-up is due to a queue for disposal at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Treatment Plant. Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung stated he is personally monitoring the situation. He explained the condition was caused by limited disposal capacity at Bantargebang following a landslide incident in March 2026. Despite this, Pramono confirmed he has instructed his staff to immediately begin removing the waste. He is targeting the clearance of the site within a maximum of 10 days. He stated that the Environment Agency has deployed teams to the location for the removal, with one heavy machinery unit, three trucks, and ten personnel currently working on the ground. Additional resources will be deployed in the coming days to meet the deadline.
