JAKARTA - Perumda Pasar Jaya has confirmed that the piles of rubbish at Kramat Jati Main Market in East Jakarta have been completely cleared in line with the target on Friday (10/4/2026).

The Director of Perumda Pasar Jaya, Agus Himawan, explained that the clearance was carried out intensively from 2 to 10 April 2026.

“Perumda Pasar Jaya has conducted rubbish clearance activities with significant daily intensity. In total, the fleet deployed consisted of 212 tronton units and 16 tipper units, resulting in 228 clearance trips,” Agus Himawan stated in a written release on Friday.

“Through collaboration between Perumda Pasar Jaya and the Jakarta Environment Agency to ensure the rubbish clearance and management process runs effectively and on time,” he added.

Additionally, Perumda Pasar Jaya is trialling the implementation of thermal hydrolysis technology and plans to adopt the MASARO (Zero Waste Management) system as a solution for waste management.

“This initiative is expected to reduce the volume of rubbish that needs to be transported to final disposal sites while creating a more sustainable waste management system,” he explained.

Previously, Perumda Pasar Jaya targeted the handling of rubbish piles at Kramat Jati Main Market in East Jakarta to be completed on Friday (10/4/2026).

“God willing, it will be finished in the next three days. On Friday (10/4), we target the entire handling to be completed,” said Director Agus Himawan on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

Agus assured that his team, along with the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (DLH), continues to work intensively to resolve the issue. He is optimistic that the cleaning process can be completed according to the set target.

Agus explained that on average, there are around 40 rubbish clearance trips per day. With that capacity, the volume of rubbish successfully cleared reaches about 600 to 700 tonnes every day.
