RT/RW Services Being Explored Through AI-Powered App
Jakarta (ANTARA) – The administration and delivery of services at neighbourhood level (RT/RW) are being explored through an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered app designed to make it easier to process documents, maintain residents’ records and pay community fees using voice commands.
Ma’mun Adizi, head of RW 01 in Sukahati, whose neighbourhood was among the first to implement the app, said digital technology helped simplify administration and services for residents. He was speaking at a discussion titled “Smart Community Powered by AI”, as reported in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Called Tata Warga, the app was developed by PT Technosoft Indo Prima. Residents can use voice commands to request services such as a covering letter for a change of address, while neighbourhood officials can manage announcements, complaints, event schedules and community voting.
Deden Rahmawan, director of PT Technosoft Indo Prima, said the use of AI at neighbourhood level was intended to build connected community governance, with services that are more practical, faster and easier to access.
“AI is a means of processing knowledge and extending human capabilities. But it is people who continue to determine the direction, set the goals and give meaning to every technological innovation,” Deden said.
Arief Wibowo, head of the Jakarta regional chapter of the Indonesian Association of Informatics Experts Nusantara (IAIIN), said digital innovation could strengthen connectivity within society, but must be accompanied by improved digital literacy so residents can use it productively.
“With innovation and technology, communities become empowered and Indonesia will prosper,” he said.
Cybersecurity expert and retired National Police inspector general Yehu Wangsajaya highlighted the potential for emergency features to strengthen coordination between residents, neighbourhood administrators and authorities. The app’s emergency button sends notifications to the heads of the RT and RW and neighbourhood security officers, and is also linked to the 110 emergency service and the fire service.
A similar approach is being developed for other communities through the One Partner app. Sports groups, women’s empowerment groups (PKK), social organisations, religious communities and university campuses can use it to manage membership, fees, attendance, rotating savings groups (arisan) and cooperatives.
