RSUI Introduces Healthcare Services with Psychological and Spiritual Support
Depok - Rumah Sakit Universitas Indonesia (RSUI) is delivering healthcare that focuses not only on medical aspects but also on psychological and spiritual support for patients and their families. To this end, RSUI held a Special Healthy Talk event themed “Patience During Illness, Eraser of Sins, Soother of the Soul” at the Lingkar Tengah, RSUI Entrance Building, Depok, on Wednesday. Ustad Maulana, as the speaker, provided religious guidance and education to patients, their families, visitors, and RSUI employees about the importance of maintaining physical and mental health through patience, a healthy lifestyle, and spiritual reinforcement when facing illness. He explained that health can be maintained through a healthy lifestyle, including attention to diet, hygiene, activity, and rest periods. He reminded attendees that illness is not only a test but can also be an expiation of sins. For this reason, he recommended continually practising patience and striving in the healing process. Ustadz Maulana also conveyed a message to families and healthcare workers that caring for the sick is a deed of great reward. Participants were encouraged to provide encouragement, avoid complaining in front of the sick, and always preserve calmness and patience. The participants’ enthusiasm was evident from the congregation’s attentiveness during the seminar and their active participation in the question-and-answer session with Ustadz Maulana. He emphasised that every person is obliged to care for their body, soul, and personal trust, as the body is an entrusted vessel for which they will eventually be held accountable. The sermon concluded with an invitation to maintain physical and spiritual health as a form of human responsibility to Allah SWT. Through this activity, RSUI hopes that the community can attain inner peace, motivation, and the understanding that illness is a part of life’s trials which can be faced through effort, prayer, and patience. In addition to providing health education, this event also serves as a means of spiritual strengthening for patients, their families, and the general public to remain optimistic during the treatment and recovery process. Through activities like this Special Healthy Talk, RSUI is committed to continuously delivering beneficial education and supporting the creation of holistic, patient-centred healthcare services.
