RSUD Muara Dua is being developed into an integrated healthcare facility through a project executed by PT Hutama Karya (Persero) under the PHTC Health Batch 3 programme. The hospital’s development adopts digital construction technology and human-centred design to improve healthcare services in South Sumatra. Built on a 30,320 square metre site with a 16,493 square metre building area (54% of the total area), the project preserves 8,749 square metres of green space (29%) to support the healing environment concept and create a comfortable atmosphere for patients during recovery. The hospital is designed as a two-storey structure with integrated construction considering medical service efficiency, infection control, circulation efficiency, and emergency evacuation readiness. The layout is divided into public, semi-public, private, and service zones to ensure orderly movement of patients, healthcare staff, visitors, and logistics without interference. Facility developments include polyclinics, radiology, laboratories, operating rooms, cathlab, ICU, standard inpatient rooms (KRIS) and VIP rooms, as well as public area arrangements. The hospital will feature basic specialist services such as internal medicine, paediatrics, surgery, and obstetrics and gynaecology, along with priority support services including radiology, anaesthesia, clinical pathology, and cardiac and stroke care. The design prioritises human-centred elements through natural lighting, subdued colour schemes, and materials supporting hygiene and spatial comfort. The healing environment approach aims to create a calmer, more comfortable atmosphere for patients and their families during treatment and recovery. In procedure rooms such as CT Scan, cathlab, and operating theatres, anti-static vinyl flooring and specialised materials are used to meet safety and hygiene standards. Inpatient rooms are designed with medical service efficiency and user comfort in mind, through spatial arrangement, ventilation systems, easy-to-clean interior materials, and integrated medical panels and hospital utilities. Nurse stations also use solid surface and stainless steel materials to enhance hygiene while ensuring long-term facility durability.
