Jakarta (ANTARA) - Rumah Sakit Umum (RSU) Pekerja in North Jakarta continues to strengthen healthcare services for the community and workers in the industrial area by introducing a dialysis or haemodialysis service, which began operating this Friday.

“To commemorate Labour Day on 1 May 2026, RSU Pekerja reaffirms its position as a hospital focused on providing healthcare services for the general public and workers by introducing dialysis (haemodialysis) services,” said the Director of PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (KBN) Graha Medika, Achmad Mawardi, in Jakarta on Friday.

He stated that the introduction of the dialysis service is to meet the healthcare needs of the surrounding community.

According to Achmad, since the service opened, it has immediately provided care to workers in the industrial area as the first patients.

He said that RSU Pekerja has long been known as a hospital providing integrated healthcare services for workers in the industrial area, from general services and emergencies to handling chronic diseases that require ongoing treatment.

“For this year, we are focusing on adding dialysis services to assist the surrounding community in need,” he said.

The development of this service is part of efforts to strengthen the hospital’s role in addressing the needs of workers in the industrial area.

“The addition of haemodialysis services is a concrete step in strengthening service quality while increasing the trust of the surrounding community,” said Achmad.

Meanwhile, the Director of RSU Pekerja, Dr Iswanto, stated that the addition of this service is part of a long-term commitment with BPJS Kesehatan to provide more comprehensive and affordable services.

“We want RSU Pekerja to become a referral hospital for workers, especially in the industrial area. We are introducing this haemodialysis service to ensure patients receive continuous care without having to leave their work environment,” he said.

A service approach close to workers’ activities is key to improving therapy compliance and patients’ quality of life, especially for those with chronic diseases such as kidney failure.

With the presence of this service, workers now have closer, more efficient, and affordable access to routine dialysis therapy.

He said that the momentum of Labour Day serves as a reminder that workers’ health is a fundamental right that must be possessed by workers and is also the main foundation of economic productivity.

According to Iswanto, many workers still neglect their health rights, such as those affected by occupational diseases who have not yet received the services they should.

“As part of the industrial area ecosystem, RSU Pekerja is committed to supporting the creation of a healthy, productive, and competitive workforce through professional healthcare services,” he said.
