RSHS Bandung Forms Specialist Team to Treat Confinement Victim
Bandung - Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) Bandung has formed a special medical team to treat YTR (29), a victim of confinement and physical abuse in Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency, allegedly perpetrated by her partner, Taufik Hidayat, over a period of three years.
The Director of Human Resources, Education, and Research at RSHS Bandung, Dr Fitra Hergyana, stated that the hospital is committed to providing the best possible service to support the recovery of the victim, who sustained several serious injuries.
“Hasan Sadikin Hospital is providing the best service and the best team. We have formed a team comprising plastic surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and other specialists,” said Fitra in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday.
Fitra noted that the victim is also receiving care from psychiatric specialists to assist in the psychological recovery process following the trauma she experienced.
“Psychiatric doctors have been consulted and are actively involved. Currently, the victim is being treated under psychiatric supervision,” he added.
On the same occasion, the West Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Pol. Rudi Setiawan, explained that the victim’s condition is showing signs of improvement, as she is now able to communicate, although she has not yet fully recovered.
“Alhamdulillah, we are now able to speak with her,” he said.
He explained that the medical team has cleaned the wounds on the victim’s body and is providing comprehensive healthcare management.
“What is certain is that her general health and her wounds have been addressed; debridement has been performed, and we are comprehensively improving her overall health,” he said.
According to Rudi, forensic examinations revealed several serious injuries on the victim’s body, believed to be the result of violence inflicted by the suspect.
“Forensic doctors have been able to identify damaged and non-functional organs. These include the eyes and lips, as well as incisions from sharp objects on the legs, cigarette burns, and so on. This certainly serves as evidence of what has occurred or been done by the suspect,” said Rudi.
