Rumah Sakit Hasan Sadikin (RSHS) Bandung has formed a specialist medical team to treat YTR (29), a victim of confinement and abuse in Cileunyi, Bandung Regency, allegedly perpetrated by her boyfriend Taufik Hidayat over three years. RSHS Director of Human Resources, Education and Research, Dr. Fitra Hergyana, stated the hospital is committed to providing the best care to support the recovery of the victim, who sustained multiple severe injuries. “Rumah Sakit Hasan Sadikin is providing the best service and the best team. We have assembled a team from plastic surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology, and other specialties,” he said in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday. Fitra added that the victim is also receiving treatment from a psychiatric specialist to aid psychological recovery from the trauma she experienced. “A psychiatrist has been consulted and is indeed involved. The victim is currently being treated with psychiatric support,” he said. On the same occasion, West Java Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan explained that the victim’s condition has shown progress, as she is now able to communicate, although not yet fully recovered. “Alhamdulillah, we have been able to speak with her,” he said. He explained that the medical team has cleaned the wounds on the victim’s body and is providing comprehensive health treatment. “The priority is her general health, and yesterday her wounds were cleaned, debridement was performed, and we are improving her overall health comprehensively,” he said. Rudi stated that based on forensic examination results, a number of serious injuries were found on the victim’s body, suspected to be the result of violence committed by the suspect. “Forensic doctors have been able to identify organs that are damaged and not functioning. Among them are the eyes, lips, there are slash marks from a sharp object on the legs, and also cigarette burns. This is evidence of what has happened or what was done by the suspect,” Rudi said.
