Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cipto Mangunkusumo National Central General Hospital (RSCM) is strengthening the development of stem cell and derivative services in Indonesia to support regenerative therapy needs through the Stem Cells and Metabolites Clinic (SCMC) at RSCM Kencana, Jakarta.

Director of Planning and Strategic Service Development at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Dr. dr. Bobi Prabowo, Sp.Em, Subsp.TK|K), M.Biomed, FICEP, affirmed that RSCM is committed to maintaining quality control so that various health technology products, including stem cells, can be applied safely for the public.

“The quality control is what we want, because what the public needs is that stem cells have many benefits. The secretome is extraordinary and can help grow hair, aid post-operative recovery, and even provide anti-ageing effects,” said Dr. Bobi at the ‘Update on Stem Cell Therapy & Derivatives in Indonesia’ event at RSCM Kencana, Jakarta, on Saturday.

Through special laboratory treatment, stem cells can be multiplied and harvested for use as a therapeutic option in conditions with no other treatment alternatives or in degenerative diseases.

Bobi said that the development of health services requires not only advances in science and technology, but also that the public must receive accurate information.

The presence of SCMC fulfils the Ministry of Health’s designation of RSCM as a hospital conducting research-based stem cell and/or cell therapy services, while also forming part of RSCM’s efforts to realise its vision of providing comprehensive and professional healthcare of international standard.

To date, more than 3,800 patients have undergone stem cell therapy at RSCM for various conditions, including bone fractures, bone defects, paralysis, knee osteoarthritis, herniated nucleus pulposus (HNP), osteoporosis, stroke, end-stage kidney failure in children, diabetic foot, burns, erectile dysfunction, Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), baldness (alopecia), skin rejuvenation, keloids, and diminished ovarian reserve.

This service is available to address the limitations of conventional therapy while supporting the advancement of medical technology for the greatest possible benefit to patients.

In this regard, RSCM presents SCMC as a one-stop service for patients requiring stem cell therapy and its derivatives. Through a multidisciplinary team approach, patients receive comprehensive and integrative care from experienced doctors in their respective fields, from the diagnostic phase, through treatment via stem cell implantation, to post-implantation rehabilitation.
