'RRI' staff demonstrate

PURWOKERTO, Central Java: Hundreds of employees of the local
state-owned RRI radio station yesterday held a rally in front of
their office to demand the resignation of local station chief Yon
Maryono.

They claimed the uncompromising station chief was
authoritarian in managing the station and was also heavily
involved in collusion and corruption.

Yon refused to hold a dialog with his employees yesterday.
After arriving at the station he immediately rushed into his
office and would not come out. (45)
