Rp922 Trillion Vanishes! Foreign Investors Exit These Stocks in Mass

While foreign investors have begun to reduce selling pressure compared to the previous week, capital outflows from the Indonesian stock market remain substantial. Between 2-5 June 2026, foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp7.39 trillion across the entire market. Although this figure is lower than the previous week’s net sell of Rp12.34 trillion, it continues to demonstrate significant capital outflow from the domestic market.

Data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) shows that foreign investors recorded purchases worth Rp49.45 trillion, while sales reached Rp56.84 trillion, resulting in a net sell of Rp7.39 trillion. This foreign selling pressure coincided with a sharp decline in the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG). Within one week, the IHSG plunged 8.69% from the 6,127.38 level to just 5,594.77, even touching a low of 5,594.11. This represents one of the deepest weekly corrections in recent years.

Notably, the foreign outflow was once again concentrated in large-cap stocks. Based on net foreign value data throughout the week, the stocks most heavily sold by foreigners included:

  • PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) - Rp2.323 trillion

  • PT Chandra Asim Pacific Tbk (TPIA) - Rp2.012 trillion

  • PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) - Rp1.027 trillion

  • PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) - Rp407.1 billion

  • PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) - Rp401.2 billion

  • PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) - Rp283.1 billion

  • PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) - Rp273.1 billion

  • PT Aneka Tambang (Persero) Tbk (ANTM) - Rp266.4 billion

  • PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) - Rp218 billion

  • PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk (TOWR) - Rp182.1 billion

In addition to the index decline, the IDX market capitalisation also eroded significantly. The exchange’s market cap shrank by Rp922 trillion in just one week, falling to Rp9,807 trillion from the previous Rp10,729 trillion. The average daily transaction value also decreased by nearly 5%, even though trading volume actually increased by 8.66%, indicating highly intense selling activity.

Compared to the region, Indonesia was one of the worst-performing markets last week. While several Asian indices managed to post slight gains, the IHSG recorded one of the deepest corrections in the region. In short, although the pace of foreign net selling has slowed compared to the previous week, global capital outflows have not yet ceased—and so far, Indonesia’s large-cap stocks remain the primary targets.
