Rp435.3 Billion Disaster Relief Funds Disbursed for Sumatra Victims
Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) has revealed that the aid budget for disaster survivors in Sumatra has been disbursed, amounting to Rp435.32 billion.
The disbursed budget will be distributed through PT Pos, covering programmes such as living allowances and assistance for household contents.
The aid is intended for communities affected by disasters in six regencies/cities, namely Langsa City, North Aceh Regency, Nagan Raya Regency, Central Tapanuli Regency, North Tapanuli Regency, and Lima Puluh Kota Regency.
“Today, the living allowance and household contents assistance for six regencies/cities in Sumatra have been disbursed. The total is Rp435.3 billion and is ready to be distributed through PT Pos to the eligible community,” said Gus Ipul, as quoted from his statement on Monday (21/9/2026).
Of the total aid, Rp322.827 billion is allocated for household contents assistance for 107,609 families (KK). Meanwhile, Rp112.50 billion is in the form of living allowances for 83,333 individuals.
The largest portion of the aid is allocated to North Aceh Regency, with a total of Rp328.45 billion, consisting of household contents assistance for 101,900 families amounting to Rp305.7 billion and living allowances for 16,857 individuals amounting to Rp22.75 billion.
Furthermore, Central Tapanuli Regency received Rp72.97 billion, Langsa City received Rp32.67 billion, Nagan Raya Regency received Rp398.7 million, North Tapanuli Regency received Rp267.45 million, and Lima Puluh Kota Regency received Rp553.15 million.
Gus Ipul stated that this disbursement is part of the government’s efforts to accelerate the recovery of community life following the disasters.
The living allowance is aimed at helping basic community needs, while the household contents assistance helps affected families to once again complete their household necessities.
“Once the funds are disbursed, the most important thing is to ensure that the aid reaches the recipients immediately and that its benefits are truly felt,” said Gus Ipul.
According to Gus Ipul, the Ministry of Social Affairs will continue to coordinate with local governments and relevant parties to ensure the distribution process is orderly and well-targeted.
“The government assists not only when a disaster occurs, but also accompanies the community until they can reorganise their lives. We hope this aid serves as a strength for affected families to rise and start anew,” said Gus Ipul.
