The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, has revealed that the government is preparing a series of economic stimulus programmes to safeguard public purchasing power in the fourth quarter of 2026.

These government assistance programmes were discussed during a limited meeting of the Red and White Cabinet, held by President Prabowo Subianto alongside several ministers at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday (30/09/2026).

In the final three months of this year, several planned stimuli include the opening of bank accounts for the public, food assistance, and wage subsidies for workers.

Regarding the wage subsidy, Airlangga disclosed that assistance will be provided until the end of the year at a value of Rp300,000 per month, targeting approximately 13.3 million workers.

“The government will once again provide wage subsidy assistance, where this subsidy is given once for 3 months at a rate of 300,000 per month, and this is provided to 13.3 million workers. The required budget is estimated to be almost Rp12 trillion,” said Coordinating Minister Airlangga at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta.

In addition to wage subsidies, the government is also preparing the distribution of food assistance in the form of 10 kilograms of rice for the next three months. This food assistance will be provided to 33,244,408 beneficiary families within the decile 1 to decile 4 groups, with a required budget of approximately Rp17.5 trillion.

“The food assistance, amounting to 10 kilograms for 3 months, will be distributed in one instalment for October and December. This is provided to 33,244,408 beneficiary families, specifically from deciles 1 to 4, with a budget requirement of about Rp17.5 trillion,” Airlangga added.

Regarding the mass opening of bank accounts for citizens aged over 17, this programme will also be directed towards those in the decile 1 to decile 4 groups. Airlangga mentioned that the government is currently verifying the number of potential recipients alongside relevant ministries.

“The figures are currently being cross-checked with the relevant ministries,” he stated.

Through these prepared programmes, the government hopes that purchasing power will remain stable and that the daily needs of the community can be met during the final three months of 2026.
