Jakarta — Indonesia’s premium SUV market has received fresh competition with PT JLM Auto Indonesia officially launching the Defender model year 2026 (MY26) for domestic consumers. Far from a mere model year update, the legendary SUV arrives with refreshed styling whilst retaining its trademark muscular performance.
The Defender MY26 is available in three body configurations: the Defender 90, Defender 110, and Defender 130. Two new colours have been introduced — Borasco Grey and Woolstone Green — lending the vehicle a more imposing yet elegant appearance suited to daily urban driving.
The standout feature is undoubtedly its performance. The Defender 110 S MY26 is equipped with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged mild hybrid (MHEV) petrol engine, producing 400 PS and 550 Nm of torque. The 0-100 km/h sprint takes just 6.1 seconds — a remarkable figure for an SUV weighing nearly 2.4 tonnes.
All Wheel Drive (AWD) and an eight-speed automatic transmission come as standard. For off-road enthusiasts, features including Electronic Air Suspension, Adaptive Dynamics, and Terrain Response System are ready for serious terrain work. The vehicle’s water wading depth reaches an impressive 900 mm.
Inside the cabin, a modern feel is immediately apparent through the 13.1-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen display, which supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Safety features are comprehensive, ranging from a 3D Surround Camera and 360 Parking Aid to Lane Keep Assist and Hill Descent Control.
The Defender MY26 is priced from Rp3,649,000,000 on the road, meaning prospective buyers must prepare upwards of Rp3.6 billion to take home this iconic SUV.
