Rp3.1 Trillion Budget Allocated for MK and KY Building Construction in IKN, Targeted for Completion by Late 2027

The construction progress of the Constitutional Court (MK) and Judicial Commission (KY) buildings within the judicial zone of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) has reached 12.41 per cent. The Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono, stated that the development of the judicial zone commenced in December 2025 as part of the second phase of IKN’s construction.

Basuki explained that the judicial zone spans approximately 15 hectares. This area will house the Supreme Court, the Justice Plaza, the Constitutional Court building, the Judicial Commission, a mosque, and regional roads. Overall, the average construction progress for buildings within the judicial zone has reached 11.8 per cent, while the construction of 7.8 kilometres of regional roads has reached 27.6 per cent. Specifically, the physical progress of the MK and KY buildings averages 12.41 per cent.

The Constitutional Court building will cover an area of approximately 44,691 square metres and will be equipped with a plenary courtroom with a capacity of 400 people, judicial deliberation rooms, institutional workspaces, and various other supporting facilities. The development of the judicial zone, or the centre for law enforcement institutions within the KIPP IKN, requires a budget of approximately Rp3.1 trillion. The entire project is targeted for completion by December 2027 to support the full operational capacity of the new capital in 2028.

Constitutional Court Judge Arsul Sani expressed optimism that the IKN development remains on schedule following a site visit to the judicial and legislative zones. The IKN judicial zone is situated to the west of the State Palace within the KIPP IKN and faces the legislative zone.
