Rp2b narcotics burned in Bali
DENPASAR, Bali: The government prosecutors office here destroyed five kilograms of narcotics, including more than 2,000 confiscated ecstasy pills, worth Rp 2 billion here on Thursday.
Heru Mustofa, chief of the office, called on the provincial government and local leaders to stay alert against the trafficking of drugs among youths and children in the province.
"Drug dealers and traffickers are targeting not only university students but also elementary school ones," he said here on Thursday.
Beratha Subawa, chief of the provincial national education ministry's office here, said a number of senior high school students have been arrested for their involvement in drug cases.
"So far, 59 narcotics cases involving school-aged children have been processed," he said. (zen)
