Dubai-based global digital infrastructure company DAMAC Digital has demonstrated its commitment to realising Indonesia’s vision of becoming a new digital powerhouse in Asia. The company marked this dedication with a topping-off ceremony in the first quarter of 2026 for the JKT01-Jakarta Central data centre, Indonesia’s first facility of its kind.

The structure, being constructed with a total investment value of USD150 million (approximately Rp2.3 trillion), is expected to become operational during 2026. The first phase is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026, marking a significant expansion of DAMAC Digital’s portfolio across Southeast Asia.

DAMAC Digital founder Hussain Sajwani described the topping-off as an important milestone in completing the main structural and operational foundation of the Jakarta data centre. He noted that this progress represents a substantial construction phase achieved in just six months since groundbreaking in August 2025.

Sajwani emphasised the company’s commitment to ensuring smooth project completion to deliver sustainable benefits and added value for all business partners and stakeholders in Indonesia. He highlighted that the construction milestone demonstrates superior engineering and the company’s long-term strategy, with scalable infrastructure ready to support Indonesia’s objective to become a leading digital economy in Asia.

The JKT01 facility will feature six storeys on land spanning 3,600 square metres with a building area of 15,080 square metres. The data centre will distribute 19.2 MW of power and utilise advanced water cooling tower systems capable of accommodating up to 1,350 racks with average density of 13–15 kW and maximum energy efficiency.

The facility will comprise three data halls, each approximately 760 square metres, specifically designed for energy efficiency, continuous operations, and alignment with global green data centre standards. The project was first announced in 2024 with site selection in the MT Haryono area chosen for its strategic position within Jakarta’s most interconnected data centre cluster and its potential to serve as a regional data hub.

Sajwani noted that the JKT01 facility is projected to address growing demand from cloud service providers (CSPs) and edge computing deployment. The first phase completion in the third quarter of 2026 will establish DAMAC Digital’s Southeast Asian portfolio presence, beginning with Jakarta.
