The Jakarta provincial government will implement a new fare for the Transbandara service on the Blok M–Soekarno-Hatta Airport route starting Tuesday (1/9/2026). The new fare will be Rp15,000 per journey.

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said the decision on the Transbandara fare had been announced well in advance. However, the Rp15,000 fare will only come into effect tomorrow.

“First, regarding the Rp15,000 fare, because this has been announced and decided, tomorrow it will be applied for the fare from Blok M to Soekarno-Hatta, which is Rp15,000,” Pramono said in Jakarta on Monday (31/8/2026).

The service was originally one of the Transjabodetabek routes, designated SH2, with a fare of Rp3,500 when it first began operating. However, the Jakarta provincial government later converted the sole service to Soekarno-Hatta Airport into Transbandara with a different fare.

Previously, the Head of the Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency, Budi Awaluddin, said the fare adjustment was made based on Jakarta Governor Regulation Number 685 of 2026 concerning the fare for the Transbandara public transport service on the Blok M–Soetta route. Under the regulation, the Transbandara fare is set at Rp15,000.

“This is not an increase; this is a determination, because previously it had not been determined—it was still a trial period. So this is a fare determination and a fare in the context of social protection,” he said at Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Friday (31/7/2026).

Budi said the governor regulation was issued on 31 July 2026. However, the policy will only be implemented on 1 September 2026. The Jakarta Transportation Agency is currently conducting public outreach so that residents can understand the fare change.

Budi stated that the governor regulation only applies to the Transbandara Blok M–Soetta service. Transjabodetabek services will continue to use the old fares, including route SH1 (Kalideres–Soetta office area).

“For Kalideres–Soetta, it has not yet been determined; it is still under review together with the Transjakarta fares internally, Jakarta, and also Transjabodetabek,” Budi said.

Meanwhile, Transjakarta President Director Welfizon Yuza confirmed that management is committed to continuously improving service quality by reorganising the departure area at Blok M Terminal to make it more passenger-friendly. This is because Transbandara passengers generally carry suitcases, so there must be a fleet with dedicated luggage compartments.

In addition, Welfizon will also seek to improve schedule reliability, including synchronising with flight times. “We are focused on maintaining certainty of bus arrival schedules and facility comfort, so that the public satisfaction level, which has reached 97.5 percent, can be maintained,” he explained.

According to Welfizon, the production cost of the Transbandara service reaches around Rp70,000 per passenger for a distance of 64 kilometres. The difference in cost is covered through a subsidy from the Jakarta provincial government so that residents can still obtain transport services to the airport at an affordable fare.

Welfizon added that since it began operating in March 2026, the service has been used by around 55,000 passengers each month. On a daily basis, around 1,800–1,900 passengers use the service.
