Jakarta - Police have arrested three suspects in the theft of a high-quality handwritten batik collection at the Inacraft exhibition held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Jakarta. Total losses from the incident reached Rp1.3 billion.

“It is confirmed that three suspects were arrested on February 12, 2026, and the losses amount to approximately Rp1.3 billion,” said Tanah Abang Metro Police Chief AKBP Dhimas Prasetyo when asked for confirmation on Sunday (2/15/2026).

The theft occurred on February 3. Dhimas said the perpetrators stole from one of the booths at the exhibition.

“It was from just one booth, and it was indeed carried out on the night of February 3, 2026,” he said.

Dhimas said the suspects acted at night before the exhibition opened. Police also managed to recover the stolen items.

“None of the stolen goods had been sold by the suspects yet,” he said.

Furthermore, Dhimas said the suspects have been formally named and charged under Article 477 of the Criminal Code. He suspected the theft was carried out with careful planning.

“This is not the first time the suspects have done this, so they likely already knew the conditions that allowed them to carry out their actions,” he said.
