The National Selection Committee (Panselnas) has officially revoked the penalty clause of Rp100 million for participants in the selection of staff for the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP) and Merah Putih Fishing Villages (KNMP). The decision was announced through Announcement Number 09 of 2026. The revocation of the rule addresses participants’ concerns regarding the penalty provision, which had previously drawn public attention.

In an official statement released on Thursday, 18 June 2026, Panselnas explained that the policy adjustment was made as part of ongoing efforts to refine the selection process. This step was taken to ensure the selection remains open and accountable, and to provide the widest possible opportunity for the nation’s best sons and daughters to contribute to the government’s priority programmes.

Panselnas assessed that the removal of the penalty clause would provide a better environment for participants to undergo all stages of the programme without being burdened by concerns over financial sanctions. “Thus, every participant can follow all stages of training and human resource development more freely and focus fully on personal capacity building,” the official Panselnas announcement stated.

Although the penalty clause has been revoked, Panselnas continues to emphasise the importance of commitment and responsibility for participants who are declared to have passed the selection. All participants are expected to demonstrate seriousness and dedication in completing every stage of the programme in accordance with the applicable regulations.

In line with this policy change, Panselnas is also providing an opportunity for participants who had previously resigned due to objections to the penalty clause to rejoin the selection process. Participants who have resigned can reconfirm their willingness to participate in the training and human resource development stages through the official Panselnas portal. The confirmation period is open from 17 to 23 June 2026 at 10.00 WIB.

Panselnas affirmed that this policy adjustment reflects its commitment to conducting a selection process with integrity, accountability, and responsiveness to public input. Furthermore, this measure is expected to ensure that the human resource needs for the KDKMP and KNMP programmes are optimally met, thereby supporting the success of various priority development programmes currently being implemented by the government.
