President Prabowo Subianto has approved a post-disaster recovery budget of Rp100.1 trillion over three years, to be channelled through 23 primary ministries and agencies and 10 supporting ones. “The President has issued a directive approving a total three-year budget of Rp100.1 trillion, divided into three phases,” said Home Affairs Minister and Head of the Sumatra Post-Disaster Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Task Force Tito Karnavian in Jakarta on Thursday (18/6). He stated the budget is split into phases: Rp38.9 trillion for 2026, Rp32.9 trillion for 2027, and Rp28.2 trillion for 2028. The funds are allocated to 23 main ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, and the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas, along with 10 supporting ministries and agencies. According to Tito, most ministries and agencies have already submitted disbursement requests to the Ministry of Finance, with five having received funds and commenced rehabilitation and reconstruction programmes according to their duties. “The others are being processed at the Ministry of Finance. We request support from the steering committee chair and members to accelerate the process, and also from the finance minister to expedite these requests,” Tito said. In addition to central government funding, regional governments have received Regional Transfers (TKD) totalling Rp10.6 trillion for three provinces, as directly instructed by President Prabowo. “This Rp1.6 trillion is for Aceh. Then approximately Rp2.3 trillion for West Sumatra and Rp6.1 trillion for North Sumatra,” Tito stated. He expressed hope that the budget would be maximised by ministries, agencies, and regional governments to complete the reconstruction of infrastructure and public facilities affected by the disaster. “We held a meeting directly in Banda Aceh with governors and all regents and mayors so that this budget is truly mobilised and utilised immediately to resolve urgent issues in each region,” Tito said. Previously, Tito Karnavian reported that post-disaster recovery progress in several areas of Sumatra showed relatively good results, with 97 per cent of temporary housing units completed. “Some positive developments, including that 97 per cent of temporary housing has been built, I checked last time,” Tito said at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture in Jakarta on Thursday (18/6). The Head of the PRR Task Force noted that recovery progress is visible across various indicators in the governance, health, education, and infrastructure sectors, as well as the provision of temporary housing.
