Rp1 Trillion Investment: Ciangir Livestock Area Construction to Begin Late 2026
Perumda Dharma Jaya will construct a cattle fattening centre within the Ciangir Integrated Cattle Farming Area, located in Legok District, Tangerang Regency, Banten. The development of this 20-hectare area is intended to strengthen the beef supply and support Jakarta’s food security.
Raditya Endra Budiman, President Director of Perumda Dharma Jaya, stated that the development follows the approval for the use of Regional Property (BMD) by the Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD) of the DKI Jakarta Province. He noted that the optimisation of regional assets is being undertaken to strengthen the food supply chain, specifically for beef commodities.
“This area will be managed by Perumda Dharma Jaya as a modern cattle fattening centre to support the availability of beef supplies for the people of Jakarta,” Raditya said on Friday.
He explained that the area will be developed as an integrated cattle farm equipped with fattening pens, quarantine pens, an animal slaughterhouse (RPH), and forage land. The management will implement modern systems to increase efficiency and productivity. According to Raditya, livestock feed requirements will also be met independently by utilising technology to ensure the quality and productivity of the cattle.
In addition to strengthening food supplies, the development of the area is expected to provide economic benefits to the local community through job creation, partnerships for forage supply, and the empowerment of local businesses.
The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, stated that the land owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in Ciangir will be developed as a food security zone encompassing livestock, fisheries, and agriculture.
“The food security being developed here includes cattle farming, as well as poultry, fish, and so on,” said Pramono.
Pramono also emphasised that the area will not function as an alternative site for the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST). The entire area will be focused on supporting the development of the food sector.
“This place is entirely not what people think—it will not be an alternative to Bantargebang, not at all,” Pramono asserted.
According to the Governor, the construction of the area’s infrastructure is scheduled to begin in November 2026, with an investment value of approximately Rp1 trillion. Currently, the project is in the stage of cross-agency coordination, socialisation, and the licensing process before entering the construction phase at the end of the year. The integrated livestock area is expected to become a pillar for providing safe, healthy, high-quality, and sustainable beef supplies for the residents of Jakarta.
