RP trade deficit rises

MANILA (AFP): The Philippines' trade deficit for October 1996 was up 27.6 percent from a year earlier at 944 million dollars, the National Statistics Office (NSO) said here yesterday.

The trade deficit in the first 10 months of 1996 was up 41.2 percent at US$10. 09 billion compared to the same period last year, the NSO said.
