RP to deport four Indonesians

PHILIPPINES: The Philippines will deport four Indonesians
arrested for attempting to use fake visas to go to the United
States, an immigration official said on Wednesday.

The Indonesians - identified as Kian Lim Lie, Kusningsih Nji
Sian, Supandi and Yudhi Sulistiyono - were arrested separately on
June 7 and 10 at Manila's international airport.

"The Indonesians were all apprehended for using spurious
travel documents in attempting to leave for the U.S.," said
Alipio Fernandez, head of the Bureau of Immigration.

Fernandez said the arrest "again foiled attempts by human
trafficking syndicates to use Manila as a jump-off point in
smuggling illegal aliens to other countries".

He said the four Indonesians have been charged with violating
the country's immigration laws, and the immigration bureau "will
soon order their deportation".

The four will also be included in the bureau's blacklist to
prevent them from returning to the Philippines. -- DPA
