RP storm claims four lives
MANILA (AFP): Four people were killed on Thursday and 12,500
were displaced as a storm battered the main Philippine island of
Luzon, the Red Cross said.
A mother and her daughter were crushed to death by a wall
which fell on their house in the town of Valenzuela north of
Manila while two men drowned at a swollen creek in the northern
Manila district of Novaliches, a Red Cross spokesman said.
He said floodwaters which engulfed parts of Manila and nearby
provinces forced 12,504 people to evacuate to higher ground.
