RP protesters denounce Hillary

MANILA (Reuter): Police swiftly dispersed a small group of
Filipino feminists who staged a protest yesterday denouncing U.S.
first lady Hillary Clinton.

Mrs Clinton, accompanying her husband to the Asia-Pacific
trade summit that the Philippines is hosting, was giving a speech
in a Manila hotel two blocks from the protest.

Mrs Clinton called in her address for the empowerment of the
region's women but the 30 Filipino protesters said she didn't
mean what she said.

"Hillary Clinton merely parrots pro-women concerns but in
essence is a tool of imperialists," a spokesperson for the
protesters told reporters. The protesters were dispersed by
truckloads of riot police
