RP likely to post 15% export growth

MANILA: The Philippine electronics industry is likely to post
15 percent export growth this year, an industry group said on
Thursday, revising an earlier forecast of 10 percent made in
December.

Semiconductor and electronics exports are expected to top
US$27 billion this year after $24.6 billion in 2003, according to
the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines,
Inc.

The sector accounted for 68 percent of overall Philippine
merchandise exports last year. -- AFP
