RP holds Jordanian, probes bomb link
PHILIPPINES: Investigators probing a bomb blast that killed a
U.S. soldier and three other people in the Philippines want to
question a Jordanian detained for immigration irregularities,
officials said on Tuesday.
Military chief Gen. Benjamin Defensor told reporters that
authorities were looking at whether the 36-year-old man was
involved in last week's bomb attack in the southern city of
Zamboanga.
The immigration statement identified the man as Mohammad Amin
S. Al-Ghaffari.
Earlier, Philippine military intelligence sources said they
believed the detained man was a Palestinian and a member of the
Islamic radical group Hamas.
