ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines (Reuter): One person was killed and 14 were wounded when two unidentified men lobbed a hand grenade into a business in the southern island of Sulu, a military spokesman said yesterday.
Armed Forces southern command spokesman Major Fredesvindo Covarrubias said the grenade attack occurred while businessman Henry Que was celebrating his birthday on Friday evening in downtown Jolo municipality, 960 km (597 miles) south of Manila. The blast killed one of Que's relatives, Emong Que.
The injured were flown to the nearby Zamboanga city early on Saturday for treatment. The military said it was still investigating the attack.
