RP FDI flows up 68.8%
MANILA: Foreign direct investment in the Philippines rose 68.8 percent from a year earlier to US$812 million in the nine months to September, the central bank said on Tuesday.
The year-ago level was $481 million.
More than half of the fresh equity capital infusion was directed to the manufacturing sector, with real estate and services also popular destinations, it said in a statement.
The United States and Hong Kong were the major investing countries in the period. -- AFP
