RP exports rise 8.2% in June

MANILA: Philippine exports in June rose 8.2 percent from a
year earlier to US$3.313 billion, the seventh consecutive monthly
rise, the government said on Wednesday.

For the six months to June exports rose 8.5 percent to $18.7
billion, the National Statistics Office said in a statement.

Electronic products in June grew 17.7 percent from a year ago
to 2.275 billion pesos and made up 68.7 percent of total exports
for the month. Apparel and clothing accessories were the second
largest export group with six percent of the total, but were down
15.9 percent from a year ago. -- AFP
