RP, Cambodia to sign accords
MANILA (AFP): Prime Minister Hun Sen and President Joseph Estrada are to sign a number of bilateral agreements on trade and tourism when the Cambodian leader visits the Philippines later this month, a presidential spokesman said Friday.
Press Undersecretary Mike Toledo said during Hun Sen's visit from August 16 to 18, the two leaders would sign bilateral agreements on "trade, investments, tourism" and "visa exemption" for visits by their citizens to the other country.
They will also establish a joint commission on bilateral cooperation, Toledo added.
Aside from meeting Estrada, Hun Sen will also visit the International Rice Research Institute in the town of Los Banos south of Manila, as well as the former US naval base of Subic which the Philippines has converted into a free trade and light industrial zone.
