RP arrests expats over bomb plot

MANILA (AFP): Three foreigners have been arrested in the
Philippines for allegedly plotting to bomb the Vietnamese embassy
here, radio reports and officials said on Friday.

Police and bureau of immigration sources said that three
unnamed foreigners were arrested on Thursday over an alleged
bombing plot against the Vietnamese mission, but would give no
further details.

Official sources said the police planned to present the three
at a formal press conference in the coming days.

Radio station DZMM identified the three as Makoto Ito of
Japan, Vietnamese-American Vo Van Doc and Swiss-Vietnamese Huynh
Thuan Ngoc.

The Vietnamese embassy in Manila said it had no knowledge of
the arrests.
