Rp 72 Billion Worth of Beef from Prabowo's Aid Package for Aceh Residents Distributed Today
Head of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sumatra and concurrently Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian stated that President Prabowo Subianto had disbursed Rp 72 billion in aid for the purchase of cattle in Aceh. Tito said the beef would be distributed to Aceh residents today.
This was conveyed by Tito during a meeting with House of Representatives leaders at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (18/2/2026). Tito said the aid had been allocated for 19 districts and cities in Aceh.
“We also report that the President has provided assistance totalling Rp 72.75 billion for the purchase of cattle and distribution of beef across 19 districts and cities in Aceh, plus Simeulue — 18 plus Simeulue. Because Simeulue recently experienced an earthquake,” said Tito.
Tito stated that the cattle purchases had already been carried out. His office had also issued a circular letter regarding the distribution of the beef.
“The cattle have already been purchased and we have issued a circular letter for distribution today. One day before the fasting month, the essence of which is that residents of 3,042 villages must receive their share of beef,” he said.
During the same meeting, Tito explained that the total number of fatalities stood at 1,205, with 139 persons still missing, whilst tens of thousands of displaced persons remained in the Aceh and North Sumatra regions.
“The number of displaced persons was previously over 2 million; it has now come down to approximately 12,944 people in tents,” said Tito.
