BANDUNG, West Java: West Java province has announced Rp 70 billion (about US$7.86 million) in aid for the improvement of infrastructure in 1,000 villages throughout the province, said Governor R. Nuriana on Tuesday.
He said that each village would receive Rp 70 million, explaining that 60 percent of the funds would go on local economic development with the remainder being spent on infrastructural improvements.
The villages will each receive additional assistance of Rp 5 million to improve the performance of their local administrations, Nuriana said.
