Rp 5b allotted for Islamic Center

TANGERANG: The Tangerang regency administration allocated Rp 5.6 billion (US$608,695) from its budget to develop an Islamic Center on a five-hectare plot in Citra Raya area, Cikupa district.

"The construction is now 50 percent completed ... we expect it to be done in December," the secretary of the regency's project team, Yahya Erfan Ma'sum, was quoted as saying by Antara on Tuesday.

He added that the inauguration of the Islamic Center would be in conjunction with the regency's anniversary on Dec. 27.

The design was created by architects from the University of Indonesia. -- JP
