JAKARTA - The People’s School project in Bengkulu Province, with a contract value of Rp 501.99 billion, is absorbing local labour and driving economic activity in the surrounding development areas.

The project, carried out by PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Works (PU), forms part of the government’s efforts to expand equitable and quality education access, while enhancing the competitiveness of human resources (HR) in the region.

During its execution, the project has faced several challenges, particularly tight completion time targets and the dispersed nature of work sites with considerable travel distances.

Nevertheless, as of 23 April 2026, the work progress has reached 37.11%, exceeding the target with a positive deviation of 10.81%.

The project is scheduled to run for 240 calendar days, commencing on 10 December 2025.

To boost productivity and work quality, PTPP is also implementing various construction innovations to ensure time efficiency without compromising the quality of the results.

This success in exceeding progress targets reflects PTPP’s capability in maintaining project performance, especially in time management and coordination of work at dispersed sites, while still prioritising quality and occupational safety aspects.

This commitment aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s national agenda to strengthen human resource development, particularly through improving the quality of the education sector as the foundation of national progress.

“PTPP continues to prioritise excellence in every project execution. We are committed to completing the People’s School construction in Bengkulu on time while maintaining quality and occupational safety, as well as delivering positive impacts for the community,” said Joko, quoted on Monday (27/04/2026).
