Rp 4b earmarked for MHT projects

JAKARTA (JP): Twenty MHT (Muhamad Husni Thamrin) kampomg
upgrading projects worth Rp 4 billion will be undertaken by the
West Jakarta mayoralty in the 1995/96 fiscal year, the head of
the mayoralty's housing development office announced.

"The projects will be financed with funds from the World
Bank," Edward T. Panjaitan told Antara on Tuesday.

No compensation, however, will be paid by the mayoralty to
local residents whose houses or land are affected by the
projects, Edward said while accompanying Minister of Research and
Technology B.J. Habibie on his inspection of the newly
constructed low-cost apartments in the Tambora sub-district of
West Jakarta.

The projects, inaugurated back in the early 1970s, are named
after the renowned Jakarta independence hero. (bas)
