Rp 185b for contraceptives

KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: The National Family Planning Board (BKKBN) has earmarked Rp 185 billion for the procurement of contraceptives in 2004.

"The funds will be channeled to provinces for the purchase of the contraceptives that are needed for BKKBN programs," board deputy chairman Imam Haryadi said in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, over the weekend.

He did not elaborate on the BKKBN's programs for 2004.

According to Imam, the funds would be taken from the 2004 state budget and overseas assistance. --Antara
