Royaltrans Bus Introduces Seat Booking, Allowing Advance Seat Reservations
JAKARTA – PT Transportasi Jakarta continues to strengthen its premium Royaltrans service by introducing a digital innovation in the form of a seat booking system (seat reservations).
This step serves as a solution to the high public interest in comfortable point-to-point bus services with minimal transfers.
Through this system, customers can now secure their seats before departure. This innovation makes journeys more planned and efficient, especially for daily users travelling from suburban areas to the city centre.
Previously, the seat booking feature was trialled on three routes: S12 (Terminal BSD – Fatmawati), S31 (Bintaro Exchange – Fatmawati), and S14 (Summarecon Serpong – MRT Lebak Bulus).
Head of Public Relations and CSR at Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani, revealed that the initial implementation received positive feedback from customers. Satisfaction levels have increased, particularly due to the certainty of seating.
“Through the TJ:Transjakarta app, customers can book tickets up to seven days (H-7) before departure starting at 12.00 WIB, enabling more thorough journey planning and ensuring seat availability according to needs,” said Ayu in a written statement (9/4/2026).
With this seat booking system, customers no longer have to queue or worry about seats running out during busy hours.
Ayu added that the presence of this system addresses the mobility needs of urban society, which demand certainty and time efficiency. This is especially true for commuter workers who rely on public transport daily.
“In the future, Transjakarta will continue to develop adaptive digital services oriented towards customer experience,” she said.
Passengers are also required to arrive early for the check-in process and to follow the applicable cancellation and refund policies in the app.
“Transjakarta is committed to continuously providing modern, integrated public transportation services oriented towards customer needs,” she stated.
