Roy Suryo's Arrest Marred by Rejection, Wife Refuses to Sign Investigator's Document
The arrest of Roy Suryo by Polda Metro Jaya investigators at his residence in Bintaro, Tangerang, on Friday morning, 19 June 2026, was marred by rejection from his family. Roy Suryo’s legal counsel, Ahmad Khozinudin, revealed that the former minister’s wife refused to sign the arrest warrant presented by the investigators. “His wife did not want to sign the arrest warrant. So it was taken back by the investigator,” Ahmad said.
Ahmad explained that the investigators arrived in the morning and immediately stated their intention to take action against Roy Suryo. The family requested that the process be delayed until the arrival of their legal counsel, but this request was not granted. The investigators proceeded with the arrest without waiting for the lawyer.
During the process, Roy Suryo’s wife protested when investigators entered private areas of the house, including heading towards the bedroom to confirm Roy Suryo’s presence. “His wife was angry, ‘This is someone’s private space, why go that far’,” Ahmad recounted. Roy Suryo had only just arrived home in the early hours, around 3 a.m., after attending a discussion event in Bandung where he was a speaker.
