Roy Suryo supports the move by Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK) to report Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar regarding allegations of spreading hoaxes and defaming his name.

Roy stated that the police are the authorised party to determine whether the video containing Rismon’s statements is the result of Artificial Intelligence (AI) manipulation or not.

“We must not confirm whether it is AI or not because even if it is AI, what Mr JK has done is correct; report it first. Clearly, the statement exists,” said Roy at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Thursday (9/4).

Roy added that even if the video is proven to be AI-generated, the police must still investigate who created it.

“AI must have been made by someone. Now, who made it? It can’t be a devil or a goblin,” he said.

In agreement, Roy Suryo’s legal representative, Ahmad Khozinudin, also endorsed the legal action taken by JK in filing a report with the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri).

Furthermore, Khozinudin agreed with JK’s statement urging Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo to show his original diploma to prevent the diploma controversy from dragging on.

“We fully support what Mr JK has conveyed and done, especially Mr JK’s statement, which actually represents public aspirations. Indeed, it would be best if Mr Jokowi shows his diploma—in quotes, if there is an original one—to the public,” he said.

“Because if it is genuine, it can be quickly resolved; if fake, the processes already submitted to the National Police Headquarters can be swiftly addressed,” he continued.

Previously, JK officially reported Rismon Sianipar to Bareskrim Polri regarding allegations of spreading hoaxes and defaming his name. The report was registered under number LP/B/135/IV/2026/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri, dated Wednesday, 8 April 2026.

“I am reporting Rismon Sianipar for his actions that I consider harmful to me because he said I funded Roy Suryo and associates regarding Mr Jokowi’s diploma issue,” said JK after filing the report on Wednesday (8/4).

JK deemed the accusations highly unethical and insulting. This is because he had served as Widodo’s vice president for five years.

“It is very unethical for me; Mr Jokowi is the President I represented. We were together in the government for five years,” he stated.

In addition to Rismon, JK also reported a YouTube account named Studio Musik Rock Ciamis and a Facebook account named 1922 Pusat Madiun.

In the report, he also submitted several pieces of evidence in the form of video recordings of the accusations of funding the Jokowi diploma case.
