Roy Suryo Strongly Denies Accusations of Receiving Rp 5 Billion Funding from JK in Jokowi's Diploma Case

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Roy Suryo, the suspect in the case accusing Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo of possessing a fake diploma, has denied receiving Rp 5 billion from Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla. He also emphasised that he did not receive any money in any form while pursuing proof of the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma. “Whatever the money, especially illicit money, we reject it. Being anti-illicit money means whether it’s Rp 5 billion or Rp 10 billion, that is illicit money. Masya Allah, we reject it,” Roy stated. He even stressed that not a single Rp 1 was received while pursuing proof of the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma. “I want to emphasise that we did not receive even a single Rp 1 in funds for this struggle, either from Pak JK or other parties, whether for the interests of the struggle or for our family’s interests,” said Khozinudin. He also emphasised that there is no relationship whatsoever between his side and JK, either directly or indirectly, including in the form of coordination or provision of funds. Ahmad Khozinudin also responded to Jusuf Kalla’s report against Rismon Sianipar to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency. The report concerns allegations of Rismon’s statement accusing Jusuf Kalla of funding Roy Suryo. Khozinudin emphasised that his side supports the legal steps taken by Jusuf Kalla. “We fully support what was conveyed and done by Pak JK,” Khozinudin said at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters. “Because if it’s genuine, let it be resolved quickly; if it’s fake, let it be processed again quickly,” he continued. He even stated that he is ready to provide testimony as a witness if needed. “We all, both as a supporting investigation team and principally, either individually or together, are ready to be made witnesses and provide statements,” said Khozinudin.
