Roy Suryo has spoken out after being released by the South Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari Jaksel) on Monday (22/6). Roy and Tifauziah Tyassuma, also known as Doctor Tifa, were not detained by Kejari Jaksel after being transferred by investigators from the Metro Jaya Regional Police. Both were only subjected to a mandatory weekly reporting requirement. “I personally, Roy Suryo Notodiprojo, extend many thanks, most clearly to my loyal friend Doctor Tifauzia Tyasuma, with whom we continue to struggle. We do not calculate who is out there. Also to our three other friends, Mrs. Kurnia Triroyani, Mas Rizal Fadhilah, and Mr. Rustam,” Roy said at Kejari Jaksel on Monday. Roy also expressed gratitude to his legal team who have accompanied him throughout this time. He also thanked the Indonesian people who have supported him. “And I only wish to offer praise and gratitude to the presence of God Almighty, Allah SWT, that our struggle is not yet finished,” he stated. “As of today, we will continue to fight to uphold the existing truth. And please continue your support, and God willing, we both remain strong, unlike the traitors,” he continued. Furthermore, Roy also conveyed his thanks to President Prabowo Subianto, the prosecutor’s office, and the police. “Last but not least, I also want to convey, because earlier the President already, also to the ranks of the prosecutor’s office and the police,” he said. Previously, Kejari Jaksel decided not to detain Roy Suryo and Tifauziah Tyassuma, alias Doctor Tifa, in the case concerning allegations of a fake diploma belonging to Jokowi. Both were only subjected to a mandatory reporting requirement once a week. The prosecutor was known to have decided not to detain the two based on a suspension request letter submitted by the legal counsel and families of Roy and Tifa. South Jakarta Chief Prosecutor Marcelo Bellah stated that in the request, the family as guarantor was ready to accept the risk if Roy and Tifa did not attend the trial. “As well as a statement letter from the suspects that they will always be cooperative in fulfilling all obligations and applicable rules and will not repeat the said actions, maintaining a conducive situation, therefore in accordance with the applicable mechanisms and provisions, the suspects are not detained,” he said. Roy and Tifa will later undergo trial for this case at the East Jakarta District Court (PN Jaktim). Marcelo said his office will also soon transfer the case files and indictment to PN Jaktim.
