Roy Suryo has been reported to the police once again. This time, he was reported for alleged defamation and slander by the Chairman of Gibranisti, Taufik Bilfaqih, at the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police. The report was registered under number LP/B/2805/VII/SPKT/POLRES METRO JAKARTA SELATAN. The man known as Bill filed the report on Thursday (16/7/2026). Bill stated that the case originated from the uproar surrounding the validation of Roy Suryo’s doctoral degree at the State University of Jakarta (UNJ). Bill felt he was defamed by Roy Suryo during a recent press conference. “It is related to defamation, insult, my honour, and my self-esteem, which was then glorified by the person concerned, leading people to judge me as a slanderer, a liar, and a hoax spreader. I cannot accept this,” said Bill after filing the report at the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police on Thursday (16/7). He explained that he initially investigated Roy Suryo’s student status at the State University of Jakarta (UNJ). However, Roy Suryo reacted, and Bill felt cornered by the statements made during the press conference. “Because of his clarification regarding UNJ, we actually found more irregularities, including statements from him that might have been slips of the tongue,” he said. “And I also see that sometimes it is not just a slip of the tongue, there is mens rea involved. Moreover, he accused me, he slandered me by saying that I slandered him. He accused me of accusing him of having a fake diploma,” he continued.
