Roy Suryo Not Giving Up, Opens Possibility of Filing Fourth Pre-Trial Motion
Roy Suryo has revealed that he has filed a third pre-trial motion in the case concerning the alleged fake diploma of Jokowi. The lawsuit was registered after a judge rejected his second pre-trial motion regarding the determination of his suspect status. The statement was made by Roy following a pre-trial ruling hearing at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday, 20 July 2026. Previously, in the first pre-trial, the judge partially granted Roy Suryo’s petition concerning the search, arrest, and detention. Meanwhile, the second pre-trial, which tested the validity of his designation as a suspect, was rejected. Roy Suryo stated that the third pre-trial hearing is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, 28 July 2026. ‘Whether we then proceed with a fourth pre-trial? Because the third pre-trial has already been registered. And God willing, it will go to trial on Tuesday, 28 July,’ Roy told reporters. He explained that the latest lawsuit contains a demand for compensation filed based on the ruling of the first pre-trial. ‘The material is compensation for the first pre-trial ruling,’ Roy said. Roy believes the outcome of the third pre-trial hearing will attract attention. According to him, questions will arise if the compensation claim is not granted. ‘Whether the compensation ruling will be accepted or rejected. Because if it is rejected, there will be a big question mark. Since the first ruling was accepted, we just did not have time to file for it at that time,’ he explained.
