Roy Suryo Files Pretrial Motion, Polda Metro Responds

Polda Metro Jaya has responded to a pretrial motion filed by Roy Suryo concerning a search and arrest, which was lodged with the South Jakarta District Court. The Legal Division of Polda Metro Jaya stated that it has not yet received a summons letter regarding the initial hearing of the pretrial motion. “We have not received the letter yet,” said Head of the Legal Division at Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Abrianto Pardede, as reported by Antara on Wednesday (24/6/2026). Nevertheless, Polda Metro Jaya stated it is prepared to follow the legal process. “Once the power of attorney’s letter arrives, we will certainly attend,” Abrianto said. The pretrial motion concerning the search and arrest by Polda Metro Jaya investigators was confirmed by the South Jakarta District Court. The applicants in the motion are Roy Suryo and Dr Tifauzia Tyassuma, suspects in an alleged defamation and slander case related to the authenticity of the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo. “Correct, a pretrial hearing is registered under the name Roy Suryo,” said South Jakarta District Court Public Relations official Halida Rahardhini. Roy Suryo’s pretrial hearing is scheduled for Monday, 29 June 2026, at 09:00 WIB, presided over by single judge I Ketut Darpawan. Roy Suryo’s legal counsel, Ahmad Khozinudin, confirmed the pretrial application pertains to the search and arrest conducted by the police. “Matters relating to the arrest process that occurred at his residence, the search, are the object of the pretrial,” Khozinudin said. Based on the Case Tracking Information System of the South Jakarta District Court, Roy Suryo’s pretrial is registered under number 99/Pid.Pra/2026/ON.JKT.SEL dated 22 June 2026. The respondent in this case is the Government of the Republic of Indonesia cq the Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief cq the Director of General Criminal Investigation of Polda Metro Jaya cq the Head of Sub-Directorate for State Security cq the Investigation Team and the Attorney General cq the Deputy Attorney General for General Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office cq the High Prosecutor’s Office of DKI Jakarta.
