Roy Suryo Files Fourth Pre-Trial Motion Challenging Travel Ban, Polda Metro Jaya Ready for Hearing

Jakarta – Suspect Roy Suryo has filed another pre-trial motion with the South Jakarta District Court. This fourth motion challenges the travel ban imposed on him in the case concerning alleged false claims about the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo. The pre-trial application was officially registered with the South Jakarta District Court under case number 129/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL on 30 July 2026. Roy Suryo stated that the core of his latest application focuses on the travel restriction policy applied to him. “Yes, we have registered the fourth pre-trial motion. It is about the travel ban. There are several points, but the main one is about the travel ban,” Roy Suryo told reporters on Monday, 3 August 2026. Roy revealed that the first hearing for the pre-trial motion has been scheduled to take place at the South Jakarta District Court on Friday, 7 August 2026. He expressed hope that the trial process would proceed according to the schedule set by the court. “The schedule is tomorrow, Friday, at 09.00 WIB in the morning. So that is the fourth pre-trial,” Roy said. Through this pre-trial motion, Roy Suryo is contesting the travel ban status imposed on him during the handling of the case regarding the alleged false diploma claims against the 7th President of Indonesia. In response to the pre-trial filing, Polda Metro Jaya stated it is ready to participate in all legal proceedings at the South Jakarta District Court. The Head of the Legal Division of Polda Metro Jaya, Police Commissioner Abrianto Pardede, said his party would comply with the summons upon receiving an official invitation from the court. “Polda Metro Jaya is ready to attend if invited by the court for the fourth pre-trial,” said Abrianto. This statement confirms Polda Metro Jaya’s readiness to face the pre-trial motion filed by Roy Suryo in accordance with the applicable legal mechanisms.
