Roy Suryo Confident Jokowi's Diploma Case File Won't Be Completed
Roy Suryo, a suspect in the case involving allegations of Jokowi’s fake diploma, believes the case file will not be P21 or declared complete. He said the matter could not be resolved because he is convinced Jokowi’s bachelors degree diploma is fake. ‘The problem is, it is unlikely to be resolved; if the diploma is fake, how could it be resolved? Its impossible. 99.9 per cent of these diplomas are fake,’ he said on the Head to Head programme on CNN Indonesia TV on Wednesday night (20 May). He even believes Jokowi’s university diploma does not exist. Roy cited a book by Dr Bonatua Silalahi titled Ijazah Jokowi Tidak Ada. ‘There is even now a book published by Dr. Bonatua. Whats the title? Ijazah Jokowi Tidak Ada. So there is nothing. The physical diploma does not exist, because in all the KPU sources there are only photocopies, photocopies, photocopies and they vary,’ he said. Roy said diplomas are usually issued after one completes a thesis. He also doubts Jokowi’s thesis authenticity due to differences in paper, the lecturer’s name, and even the signatures. ‘So, there is also no examination sheet, there is no thesis from which a diploma could be issued,’ he said. In the same programme, Jokowi’s lawyer, Rivai Kusumanegara, said his client was ready to attend the trial. Not only would he attend, Rivai said Jokowi would bring diplomas from primary school through to S1. ‘I can state here that about three weeks ago I met with Mr Jokowi and his team; he has prepared for if this goes to P21, he is prepared to attend the trial in Jakarta, including bringing all his diplomas not only S1, but from SD, SMP, SMA through to S1,’ he said. Previously, Metro Jaya Police had confirmed the case of alleged Jokowi diploma fraud would continue for five suspects. The five suspects are Roy Suryo, Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Rustam Effendi, Muhammad Rizal Fadillah and Tifauziah Tyassuma alias dr Tifa. ‘The investigation against the other suspects will continue to the trial stage,’ said Kombes Iman Imanuddin, Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, at a press conference on Friday (17 April). Iman said for the other three suspects, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, Eggi Sudjana and Damai Hari Lubis, a SP3 had been issued.
