Roy Suryo and Tifa Vow to Continue Fight Over Jokowi Diploma Case After Not Being Detained

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Suspects in the alleged defamation and slander case regarding the authenticity of the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma (Dr Tifa), have pledged to continue fighting the case after not being detained by the South Jakarta District Attorney’s Office (Kejari Jaksel). “Yes, we will continue, we will keep fighting. We are not calculating who is out there,” Roy told reporters at the South Jakarta District Attorney’s Office on Monday. Roy mentioned the names of friends and colleagues who had supported him, resulting in him not being detained by the South Jakarta District Attorney’s Office. He also expressed gratitude to the media and all Indonesian citizens who have monitored this case. Roy vowed to continue fighting to uphold justice. “And I just want to offer praise and gratitude to God Almighty, Allah SWT, that our struggle is not over. As of today, we will continue to fight to uphold the existing truth,” he said. In agreement, Dr Tifa also expressed the belief that one should never be afraid to speak the truth in Indonesia. “Let us support goodness for this country with all the knowledge we possess. Never be afraid to speak the truth,” she stated. Previously, Roy Suryo and Tifauzia Tyassuma, known as Dr Tifa, underwent medical examinations at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta on Friday (19/6) at around 5.50 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. They arrived under tight escort from the Metro Jaya Police and were immediately taken to the Emergency Department. In general, the condition of Roy Suryo and Dr Tifa was found to be good. However, during the examination, underlying health conditions requiring further medical attention were discovered. The medical team assessed that their health conditions did not allow them to immediately resume activities without medical supervision. Therefore, doctors recommended that both undergo inpatient care to ensure their health remained stable.
